Things I LOVE Thursday

Well I am finally back bloggin!  I have so many posts to get on here but I will keep it to one day at a time and follow the BLOGGER rules :)  

I thought I would get started with a Things I love Thursday post....here goes!

I am currently enjoying my last few days of spring break, it has been such a nice relaxing time....not ready to get back to being so busy!  Just 11 weeks and summer will be here :)

STELLA AND DOT.....this Jolie necklace from our spring line is so CUTE!  I can't wait for mine to arrive.....I am also very excited for two upcoming trunkshows I have scheduled for April!!

My LITTLES!  Look how much fun they are....they get easier and easier every day!  I can't believe that my youngest will be in Kinder and my oldest will be in Middle School next year!

 My hubby!  He rocks.....he has made the last few weeks for me so easy and I just love being around him.  He is the king of optimism, laundry, dishes, and sweetness....not to mention an amazing dad!

Loving my new nail polish color by OPI....my vampire is BUFF!  Also, the fact that flip flop and reading books by the pool season is here makes my heart and head so happy!!!

P is for PRODUCT!  While I don't create any products to sell....I do use plenty from TPT. My two favorites this year are the CURRENTLY for students.....thanks FARLEY of Oh Boy Fourth Grade...

The kids just love the beginning of a new month....and what they write always cracks me up!

I also LOVE Amanda from One Extra Degree....Valentine Book Box Reports!  My class did an amazing job on these....

A is for AREA.....my favorite area of my classroom is my library!  I had so much fun creating the tree and it feels so cozy! My high school intern is my anchor chart creator.....as you can tell we are deep into non-fiction research!

S is for SIGNAL.....my signal is just a good old fashion "deli bell". You know....the kind you find in delis that has a sign next to it....ring bell for assistance. Mine is lime green and I love it. Just one tap of that bell and the kids freeze and look at me for I instructions.....I have an amazing class this year....they are so easy with attention getting!

S is for SANITY...there are many things that keep me sane.....coffee (skinny caramel macchiato) and lots of good books to read....Jen Lancasters latest book was hilarious!  Running and especially races run with the hubby and my running pals help me relieve stress!  I need to get back out there for sure!  The idea that summer vacation will be here soon and we will be drinking beartinis at LAIR camp makes me smile. Last but not least....my sweet family keeps me sane when I need it the most!

February Currently....

Today was such an awesome start to the month of February!  OF COURSE.....my class started their day with their very own CURRENTLY!  If you haven't picked up Farley's Currently pack at teacherspayteachers.....then you better get going!  The kids LOVE IT!!!  And what they write just cracks me up!

So for my pet peeves.....her goes....I can't stand when the 

kids DOG EAR the pages of my wonderful books....

also, when they stick a pencil in their spot!  YUCK...

use a post-it PLEASE!  No-name papers make me CUCKOO,

last year all of my no names had print that I could recognize....

this year....they all look the same...whammy!  TEENY TINY

PENCILS....why is this so much fun for the kids???

Owl in MY Backyard

How cool was it to find a Great Horned Owl in my very own Backyard!  My class has been studying owls and we are reading Poppy by Avi!!  Today we had a fun lesson on our opinion about owls and Mr. Ocax's motive!!

Book Club Update

So my book club is the BEST!  We always have the most fun and creative times together!!  In October we read the book WILD which was an Oprah 2.0 Book club book!  It was actually such a great read, I have no idea how Cheryl took that hike and she is my hero!  We spent a foggy morning hiking in Las Trampas after coffee and discussing this book!!

 In November, we read 12:21....END OF THE WORLD!  I didn't get a chance to read it which really bummed me out and I was actually under a ton of stress as we were hooking up the evening of our last day of school before Turkey break....I had to drive my daughter to dance and everything so I decided I couldn't go!  Sure enough....see pic below....my gals came over with an end of the world drink for me and kidnapped me!  It was such an awesome and funny night....I am so lucky to have these women in my life!  Sorry about the cake pic...upside down!

In December it has been our tradition to do a cookie exchange ever since we read the Cookie Book Club book a couple years back.  Now....we have never been able to agree upon a good holiday read so we all pick our own and then wrap them up in a thematic wrap to exchange as well.  I made the yummy cookies below with the peppermint kisses....found on pinterest of course!  The table shows all the other fancy cookies these ladies wrapped up!!  I read The Christmas Wedding....kindof cheesy but a quick read!!    Next month....actually we meet this Friday....we are reading The Book Thief.....guess I better quick blogging about it and get to reading!  We have planned out our next several books for the year:  The Great Gatsby, Gone Girl, Language of Flowers, and a Shakespeare play....I have a ton of books on my 2BRead pile.....and I am looking forward to new books coming in the next few months by my favorites:  Sophie Kinsella, Jen Lancaster, Jane Green, and Jodi Picoult just to name a few!!
